Rachel Ice

Rachel Ice is a Washington D.C.-born pianist whose professional training has occurred at UNCSA, where she earned her bachelor of music degree in 2016 and her master of music degree in 2018 in the studio of Dr. Dmitri Shteinberg. Rachel has studied a wide array of musical topics and was mentored by Dr. Shteinberg in piano pedagogy, especially as it pertains to carrying on the Russian tradition of piano playing. Studying at UNCSA afforded Rachel with opportunities to perform in both solo and chamber settings in Winston-Salem and the surrounding area.

While performing is a joy and a privilege, teaching is a growing passion for Rachel. She sat on faculty at the Community Music School of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, served as a substitute instructor at St. Mary’s Music Academy, and maintains a private studio in Boston, MA. She credits her eternal love for music to the continual part it has played in her life, especially as a foundation on which she has built meaningful relationships, and she seeks to cultivate the same experience for her students. Rachel believes that the fulfilling experience she has had with music is available to anyone who takes the time to claim the vast riches that music has to offer.
